Elberon Development Group, a New Jersey family-owned real estate business, was founded by David O. Evans in 1920. The company began as a residential construction company, building one house at a time based on new home buyer demand.

1920

Elberon Development Group constructs their first industrial building in Elizabeth, NJ.

1940

First of what would become several build-to-suit projects for Kraft Foods.

1956

First build-to-suit for General Motors Elizabeth, NJ.

1959

Construction of first Wakefern Building.

1960-1980s

Constructs approximately 4 million square feet of industrial space.

1966

Anne Evans Estabrook 2nd generation to join Elberon Development Group.

1983

David O. Evans, company founder, passes away.

1985-1990s

Acquisition of existing buildings to grow the portfolio

1996

Dave Gibbons, son of Anne Evans Estabrook, becomes the third generation to join the company.

1998-2004

Several redevelopment projects and renovation of existing portfolio takes place.

2008

In a joint venture with Prologis, Elberon Development Group delivers 560-596 Bercik Street.

2012

Delivery of inspections facility for East Coast warehouse.

2012

Elberon Development Group and its joint venture partner, Prologis, complete a 152,000 square foot build-to-suit distribution facility for long-standing tenant Federal Express in Elizabeth, NJ, Bercik Street.

2013

Elberon Development Group delivers a new, state-of-the-art, 524,000 square foot distribution center to Wakefern Food Corp. on the same site that Elberon’s founder, David O. Evans, had constructed Wakefern’s original building 50 years prior in Elizabeth, NJ. The project won the NAIOP “Deal of the Year” Award.

2013

Elberon Development Group delivers a 175,000 square foot refrigerated warehouse for France-based food distributor Seafrigo Cold Storage in Elizabeth, NJ. The new facility features 16,000 square feet of 2-story office space, 25 tailboards, 40 foot clear ceiling height, and temperature controlled rooms ranging from -10 degrees up to 55 degrees.

2015

Dave Gibbons becomes CEO and Anne Evans Estabrook stays on as Chairman.

2016

Elberon Development Group and its joint venture partner, The Avidan Group, redevelop 17 acres in Elizabeth into a two-building industrial center totaling 225,000 square feet. The site houses Seafrigo Cold Storage and Pilot Air Freight. The project wins the NJ-NAIOP 2016 “Industrial Deal of the Year” Award.

2017

Dave Gibbons becomes President of NAIOP NJ.

2020

Elberon Development Group Celebrates 100 years in business.

2020

First acquisition outside of New Jersey-Port of Baltimore.

2021

Elberon Development Group delivers a new, state-of-the-art, freezer warehouse to FreezPak.
